I've noticed that there are a ton of different companies you can buy pocketbikes from online, so I came up with an idea (well actually, I kinda stole the idea from priceline ;o) to put these companies together on one site so you can "shop and compare... before you buy". Pocketbike Safety:

When riding a pocketbike, you should always keep safety in mind. Yes, they look like a toy, but a pocketbike is a motor vehicle! Serious injury can, and has happened from improper use. Here are a few precautions you should always remember when riding...

Always use an ANSI approved helmet when riding. Other protective gear is also recommended. This includes, but is not limited to, elbow pads, knee pads, shin guards, riding gloves, and long sleeve shirts and pants.

Always perform a safety check of your pocketbike before you ride. This includes, but is not limited to, tire pressure, tightness of screws and bolts, tension of the chain, and any other necessary adjustments.

Always keep your pocketbike properly maintained. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping the chain oiled, proper adjustment of the throttle and brake cables, and using the correct gas/oil mixture.

Never ride on public roads. In most U.S. States, it is illegal to do so. If you have any questions about the laws in your area, contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

Adult supervision should always be implemented when a minor is riding a pocketbike.
